I like salsa. I often buy jars of salsa, trying to find the good ones. I happened to be traveling in Minnesota just over a year ago and purchased a jar of Mi Costenita Salsa Roja from a grocery store in Faribault, MN. The heat in this salsa is spectacular!! I love spicey foods, but so many times the heat overwhelms the flavor, and you're just left with the after burn. There is nothing wrong with that, it is one of the main reasons I love spicey foods. But, when you find a product that has the spice and heat, but also has a superb flavor, that is a rarity. That is precisely what Mi Costenita has achieved with their Salsa Roja. Once that first jar was gone, I immediately headed back to that grocery store and bought the last remaining 4 jars they had on their shelf. The particular grocery store has locations all over the Midwest, including several locations in my hometown. Unfortunately, none of my local stores carry the product. Luckily, I was able to find Mi Costenita online and have been ordering Salsa Roja BY THE CASE ever since. This salsa is the absolute best I have ever had. Don't believe me? Fine.
